Penn Fathom Electric Reel Kits

The new Fathom electric reels are a great all in one package that shows Penn responding to market demands of the growing popularity of electric reels. Unlike other solutions these come as a kit that includes everything to get you up and running, whether you're dropping deep for rockfish, cod, grouper, flying a kite or even trolling further back on the larger size you won't have to worry about cables. While these reels are not made for bigger swordfish or bluefin, you can always fight the old fashioned way and use them for the convenience of being able to haul your bait or lures back without the fatigue. 

You'll have 40lbs of winding power on the brushless motor which is more than the drag you'll get out of the reel so these are very capable reels for their class. If you're spooling the reels yourself you'll need to input the diameter line spec. 

These reels have internal flash memory so they'll store depth and line capacity info even when switching batteries on the fly, and you'll definitely need more batteries for long trips since they're mostly rated for 10-15 drops with a heavy 5lb weight. All three come with a tension knob to control drop speed, a tip alarm which stops your terminal tackle from flying through your guides and a loud electronic clicker. 

These are based on the existing Fathom 30, 50 and 80 sizes although the arbors have changed so the capacity is a bit different. The 50 comes from the star drag levelwind size. 

Batteries are interchangeable between all reels and the kits come with the battery and charger, an optional 4 battery charger is available but you can opt to wire the reels to a larger battery using the 10ft optional ring terminal cable or even plug directly into a boat hubbell connector.
